Privacy policy

1. Who we are

Tiger Motors Sdn Bhd (202101011961 (1412260-K)), Lot 1521, Block 218, Jalan Batu Kawa, KNLD, 93250 Kuching, Sarawak, is the data user (controller) responsible for personal data collected through tigermotors.com.my, WhatsApp, phone, email, social media and at our showroom.

2. Personal data we collect

• Contact details you give us: name, phone number, email and the messages you send on WhatsApp, email or social media.
• Loan eligibility check answers you submit on this website: your name, WhatsApp number, email, age group, licence type, type of work, monthly income, credit record and buying plans. We use them to reply with your result and follow up about a car loan. The check does not ask for your IC number or documents.
• Purchase and loan information you choose to share: NRIC, driving licence, payslips, bank statements, employment details, EPF statements and similar documents needed for a car loan or Tiger Capital financing.
• Credit information: with your consent, results of CCRIS and CTOS checks carried out by us or by the lender.
• Vehicle and transaction records: the car you buy or trade in, sales agreements, insurance, JPJ ownership transfer and warranty claims.
• Photos taken at handover, which we may share with your permission.
• Technical data collected automatically when you browse this site, such as browser type, device and pages visited, kept in our hosting provider's server logs.

3. How we use it

• Answering your enquiries about cars, prices, test drives and delivery.
• Assessing financing eligibility and submitting loan applications to the lenders you agree to.
• Processing your purchase, insurance, road tax and JPJ ownership transfer.
• Providing warranty service, after-sales support and our customer helpline.
• Sending service reminders or offers, only if you agree; you can opt out at any time.
• Improving this website and our service.
• Meeting our legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to complete your purchase or run our business:

• Banks and financiers you apply with, such as Maybank, CIMB, Hong Leong Bank, Public Bank, AEON Credit and Chailease.
• Credit reporting agencies (CCRIS through the lender, and CTOS), with your consent.
• Insurance providers, JPJ and the agents who process ownership transfer.
• Our panel workshops, for warranty repairs.
• Service providers who host our website and systems, under confidentiality obligations.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

5. Cookies and analytics

This site does not use advertising cookies and does not require you to sign in. We may use essential cookies for the site to work and anonymous analytics to understand traffic. You can block cookies in your browser settings. Links to Google Maps, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok are governed by those companies' own privacy policies.

6. Storage, security and transfers

Your records are kept in our own access-controlled system. Our website and systems are hosted by cloud providers whose servers may be outside Malaysia; where data is transferred, we use providers with security standards comparable to those required by the PDPA. If a data breach is likely to cause you significant harm, we will notify you and the Personal Data Protection Commissioner as the law requires.

7. How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months. Sales, financing and warranty records are kept for as long as Malaysian law requires, typically 7 years for financial records. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.

8. Your rights under the PDPA

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (as amended), you can:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct data that is wrong or out of date;
• withdraw your consent, or stop marketing messages, at any time;
• ask for your data to be deleted where we no longer need to keep it;
• ask for your data to be sent to another organisation where the law gives you this right.

We reply within 21 days. Withdrawing consent to data needed for a loan or purchase may mean we cannot complete it. Giving us your data is voluntary, but without it we may not be able to process your loan, purchase or warranty claim.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated. A Bahasa Malaysia version is available on request.
